H. heng · #4 · Jan 23, 2009. Just came through this problem myself on a 5+ yr old 10 hp tecumseh snow king. Its probably a combo of gas with ethanol and a dirty carb. The dirty carb problem might be addressed with removal and cleaning (as discussed at length on other web forums). The gas with ethanol results in the engine running lean. · It is an 8 HP Tecumseh number HM80-1556585 It is not overhead valves and it had the capacitor discharge ignition which I replaced. Also replaced the crankshaft key. I thought maybe it was a sticking valve and mixed some 2 cycle oil with gas, no change so I drained that gas and put in fresh but added a little Marvel Oil.LV195EA-362003B LV195EA-362003C LV195EA-362003D LV195EA-362004D. Make sure the carb gaskets are sealed well, and drop the bowl to see if there is any crap in there from decomposing fuel lines.
